Details for Dr Watson
Name: Dr Watson
Website: http://www.myspace.com/ausdrwatson
City/State: SydneyNSW

dr_watson_72dpi.jpg Dr Watson is a three-piece cruisy blues band from Sydney, NSW, with many years of combined musical experience. One special event was as support act to Dragon when they played at The Brass Monkey in Cronulla back in March, 2007, resulting in a "live" recording.

Dr. Watson play their own unique version of acoustic-based blues and jazz. Their new CD Isn't she Blessed showcases some of their original songs as well as refreshingly original versions of a couple of standards.

The three musicians in Dr Watson first played together in the late '80s and early '90s as part of the dynamic Sydney rock band Tough Trade and the Pat Benatar tribute show, Best Shot.

Recently reunited, the trio have found that their musical interests have evolved and matured to embrace jazz, blues and folk music. Yes, they are still playing Smoke on the Water, but not as we know it!

Helen Matthews (vocals, saxophone). Helen's wealth of experience comes from many years? touring Australia with rock bands, supporting some of the big names in Oz rock. She has the rare gift of a voice that can be very powerful yet very expressive.

Nick Watson 'The Doctor' (guitar). Nick's talent has led him through mant bands to experience a wide variety of music. His diverse influences, from rock to blues and jazz, combine to help create a melting pot that is the Dr Watson sound.

Rosemary Hannaford (keyboards). Rosemary's background in classical and jazz studies have led to a keyboard sound that makes a subtle yet important contribution to the band.
