Tickets for the Perth Blues Club's "Mardi Gras 2009" festival are on sale NOW from Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com.au ).
Headlining
the Mardi Gras will be Texan blues guitarist and self-confessed
Aussie-phile Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges, with the Zydecats and
Victoria Newton being the main supports.
"We've
aimed to satisfy all tastes," said organising team member and club
President Rick Steele, "so with that in mind, we've booked a gospel
act, a jugband, a tradjazz band and even a Babershop quartet, as well as some of the more mainstream blues and jazz style acts."
The
full line-up of 13 acts will play on three stages: the major
sponsor's stage and the 'Congo Square' stage located in the beer gardens; and
after 7pm, the Voodoo Lounge in the main band room.
"With
only 600 tickets available, this will be a a very special event that
will appeal to the many discerning blues, roots and jazz fans throughout WA,"
said Rick.
The
Charles Hotel has also entered into the spirit of the event and will
provide a range of Cajun and Creole dishes to augment their already
excellent menu, as well as a range of America beers.
"We're
very excited by this new iniative from our longest resident club and
hope that it will become a regular event on Perth's festival
calendar," said Charles Hotel Manager Chris Angelkov.
Tickets are priced at $55.00 (plus booking fee) and are also available from 78 Records (Hay Street), Mills Records (Fremantle), Planet Video (Mt Lawley), The Charles Hotel (North Perth) and the Perth Blues Club (Tuesdays).
