All you have to do is buy a ticket and turn up, buy a few large, very responsible drinks and maybe enjoy one or two selections from the fine Cajun menu our friends at the Charles Hotel are going to especially prepare. Then sit back and enjoy the music all day long in a fine beer garden and carnival atmosphere.

We will be decking the halls with holly, or some such appropriate adornment, so we expect you to put on your best costume gear and bring along a recently deceased pet accessory, which has been stuffed by Perth’s leading firm of taxidermists - Botox, Botox and Formaldehyde.

In a novel twist to the Perth Mardi Gras this year, women will be throwing beads at men who expose their breasts, so start the weights fellas. Less than seven weeks to get those guns loaded!

The entertainment this year will again be from the top shelf.

After a brief introductory tour late last year, we are delighted to have Hollywood legend Bob Malone back to headline this year’s event. One of the finest piano players to grace the blues club stage, Bob let’s his fingers do the talking. A man of many moods, equipped with a sometimes gentle, sometimes raspy voice, and a slightly sardonic sense of humour, Bob is guaranteed 100% sublime entertainment. Bob’s band will be accompanied by a horn section comprised of some of Perth’s finest to produce a show stopping extravaganza.

There is a stack of other wonderful musical highlights heading your way on February 27, 2010. A wide range of sounds from gentle country blues through Neil Young country infused contemporary pop and into rocking Albert King inspired blues guitar from the inimitable Trevor Jalla. The night will finish off jumping and jiving with The Zydecats Mardi Gras Allstars featuring a cast of thousands. You won’t see this show anywhere else.
