The recent West Coast Blues and Roots Festival was a success in many ways - not least for your local blues club. The Perth Blues Club took a stall in the market area to promote the club to its target audience - blues and roots lovers. Several committee members and volunteers worked on the stall for two days, setting up and breaking down the stall, signing up new members, selling the new tee-shirts and other club merchandise, and talking to the many festival-goers who strolled over to see what we were all about. Our team handed out around 500-600 gig-guides and membership forms and spent time talking to visitors about the club. We'd like to thank all those who helped out at the stall, including those members who had paid to go to the festival and still gave us an hour or two of their time, but especially our keen volunteers. At the end of the festival, we all agreed it had been a very worthwhile exercise in promoting the club and we hope that we'll see some of the people we spoke to down at the club on Tuesdays. |
