The band name came about because all four members in the original line-up were imports to Australia: Paul (although born in Australia) was brought up in Germany, Phil is English, Gordon was Singaporean and Rick is a Kiwi. Peter Lenz has now taken over on bass from Rick, and was born and brought up in Australia. However, 15 years in South Africa sort of qualified him as an Import. The Imports play blues and rock and are based in Perth, Australia. The
band has been established for several years, playing at many venues in
and around Perth, including the Perth Blues Club @ Charles Hotel, West Coast
Blues Club, several open air concerts and others, as well as
private functions.
