Blue Shaddy

Blue Shaddy are, Neil (Jim) McClelland, guitar and vocals, Graham (Belly) McClelland, harmonica and percussion, Sandra McClelland Bass guitar, and Arun on drums and percussion. Blue Shaddy began in the small town of Kellerberrin, in Western Australia's Wheatbelt back in 1989. The "Wheatbelt" region is a prime grain producing strip of land sweeping down the western coast of Australia from Geraldton to Esperance, about 1000 kilometres and extending inland for 500 kilometres. Kellerberrin is almost in the middle of this region. Here, wheat, sheep and flies are plentiful, and surprisingly enough for a small country town, it was also home to a number of working musicians, with whom Jim (founder of Blue Shaddy) began gigging regularly at the age of 17. After several hundred gigs of cabaret and old time rock'n roll Jim was well honed and ready to take on the country with something of his own, and so enters Belly, the man with the metal sandwich. Born, bred, brainwashed (and burdened?!!) with the same musical vision, these two brothers began what is now an inseparable recipe that really does cook well. Throw in Sandy (a long time friend and country neighbour) on Bass guitar, and relocation to Perth, the state's capital, and this is Blue Shaddy.
