Marcus Sturrock


Marcus Sturrock plays eclectic songs & tunes on alternately tuned 6 / 7 steel string & Baritone acoustic guitars, interweaving Scottish, Middle Eastern, Irish, Funk and more. Reflected on 13 of his albums is his multi-instrumental skills; he is a session & concert musician playing at major and small music festivals around Australia & overseas, headlining at some.

Specializing in audio engineering (runs ‘Big Ear’s Recording Studios’) he has played and composes music for movies, dance, theatre, visual arts, radio, television, circus, theme park and dressage; holds guitar workshops, private guitar lessons, lectured in song composition and audio engineering at TAFE, performs with Indian dance and music ensembles, George Dobson orchestra, carer & music therapist for the profoundly autistic, non neuro typical and the physically challenged.

His music has great response from all age groups.He is one of the founders of driving percussion on the guitars body simultaneously playing contemporary & traditional music on the guitar and is listed in the ‘Who’s Who of Rock’ N Roll, Judged the ‘Australian Song Writers Competition, ‘WAMi Song Comp’. and ‘Murdoch University Band Competition’. Marcus has recently excepted a record deal with ‘Roustabout Records’ (MGM distributors) playing on a CD along with Jeff Lang and Michael Fix.
