Moondog

Hailing from Denmark, Western Australia, Moondog performs solo or as front man of the Moondog Blues Band.

He is a master of the blues harmonica and a formidable guitarist, singer and song writer. His voice holds a deep authenticity reminiscent of the great Blues singers of the past. He has travelled extensively in the United States in the areas where the Blues began (Chicago, St Louis, Memphis, Mississippi, New Orleans), and played with some great locals - Billy Branch (Chicago, IL), Ronnie Baker Brookes (Chicago, IL), Toronzo Cannon (Chicago, IL), Kim Massie (St Louis, MO), David Kimbrough Jnr (Holly springs, Mississippi), Big Dave and the Evil Love band (Clarksdale, Mississippi), Mojo Possum (Memphis, TN).

Moondog has performed at the Chicago Blues Festival (2009 Jam Stage), Byron Bay Bluesfest, Southbound Festival and the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Chiang Mai University (Thailand), as well as some of the premier venues in Australia (Perth Entertainment Centre, Melbourne Recital Centre, Brisbane Powerhouse).

Moondog is also heavily involved in the west OZ hip hop scene. He is a core member of Delta Forse in which he MC's and break dances and is the feature vocalist for Optamus (from Downsyde), single "Look Around" on JJJ radio. Aside from performing, he also has seven years experience running performance workshops in schools and community centres throughout Western Australia.
