Each year the Perth Blues Club celebrates the role of the keyboards (Piano/Organ) with a themed special event called "The Great 88".

This year's event will pay musical tribute to Fat's Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Ray Charles by three local keyboard players who have each chosen their favourite player form the past. Bob Patient pays tribute to the late Fatts Domino, Pete Stone performs music by Jerry Lee Lewis, and Bill Blissett pays tribute to the late Ray Charles.

The band consists of Bill Rogers (sax and vocals). Steve Garde (guitar), Roy Daniel (bass) and Gary Howard (drums and vocal).

Craig Pinkney will open the night at 7.30pm

Craig Pinkney

Craig Pinkney has a wealth of musical experience and has performed in bands of varying styles all over the world. He has performed with many of Perth's top musicians and has now released his first solo effort to critical acclaim.

Craig's song- writing skills have been recognized with a "Sounds" (British Rock Mag ) Top Twenty Hit, and various song writing awards, winning the Millenium Song Writing Competition and The Songs of Solidarity Australia-wide competition and most recently 2nd prize in the Austalian Songwriting Association song contest.

Craig's singing skills have also been recognised and he has been a finalist in the Grace Brothers Australian Singing competition and has won Star Search ( A pre - "Idol" TV talent show).

He has played as support act to many international touring acts including Billy Joel, Chris Isaac, James Brown, Joshua Kadison and Clannard. Happy with just an acoustic guitar and mic or fronting a rockin' band, Craig is an " old school" musician who delivers a performance full of soul and is most at home in front of an appreciative audience.
