The PBC's 25th Anniversary Birthday Party has been set for Saturday 9 December, and what a party it will be!

Already in place is Dave Hole as the headline act, and like most of our celebrations, there'll be a host of local and national musicians taking turns on the stage.

It all kicks off at 4.30pm in the beer garden with solo and duo acts you will all be familiar with - so come early for a warm up session. Doors open for the band room at 7pm, the music starts at 7.30pm. Food will be available for purchase at the beer garden bar and also to be taken into the band room.

Dave Hole

With his furious energy and amazing "over‐the‐top" style of playing, Dave Hole has carved his own place  deep in the pantheon of slide guitar greats. His performances are drenched in waves of fret‐melting guitar riffs that  infuse the spirit of blues and rock slide legends such as Duane Allman, Johnny Winter and Elmore James.

"Nothing  interferes with Hole's searing guitar when he is in full flight," said Rolling Stone. Guitar World agreed, saying, "Hole  produces solo upon blistering solo with slide work that is exhilaratingly relentless."

Since his recording debut 22  years ago, Dave Hole's records and live performances have drawn raves from countless international publications,  including Billboard, Downbeat, Spin, Guitar World and Guitar Player. Similarly, he's earned rapturous praise from the  Associated Press and major US market dailys like the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and Washington Post.  Billboard wrote; "Slide guitar fanatics will have their brains blown out by this Australian fret‐melter ... Remarkably inventive, technically unusual overhand slide work that separates him from the common pack ... prepare to hear your jaw hitting the floor."

Dilip n the Davs is one of WA's premier showbands that is returning to the PBC after a long absence. Here is a band that can move effortlessly from funk to blues or from reggae to ska and still keep the dance floor pumping and other  musicians frothing. The band has just completed final mixing for their eighth album, which will be released early in  2018.

The Davs have always managed to include some of the rising guitar stars in their ranks and  at present Daniel Wiggins  is certainly shining very brightly indeed.  See some clever and enthralling fretwork by this very talented young  player. His dad, Mark Wiggins is on bass and is the pulsating heart of the band; he is accompanied by another young talented player on drums, Rolf Fox. In addition to Dilip on vocals there is also a new singer, writer and keyboard  player who has joined the band and has added even more funkiness its sound, Paul Cuz Cozens. The Blues heart of  the band comes from well loved WA harpman Andrew Pring.

For their PBC show, the band will be showcasing their blues repertoire including exciting new material.

Steve Tallis & the Snakes of DesireSteve Tallis (Blues Shaman / Australian Griot) returns from Paris with "The  Snakes of Desire", performing songs from his critically acclaimed new album "The First Degree" as well as some new  songs and old favourites.

"Words that speak of the spirit. Earthy, unadorned music that comes from somewhere under the skin, this is as real  as it gets. Uncompromising in his artistic integrity. One of the few artists brave enough to stand naked and imperfect  within an industry that encourages conformity and compliance."  Phil Bennett @ Nova

"Part Buddha, Demon, Mad Angel"   Ray Purvis @ The West

"Australia's Bob Dylan"   Kris Rogers @ Pelican

"In a musical milieu that values tradition he is a bit of loose cannon, a maverick, a highly individual performer with a  strong sense of self worth. I've never heard anyone outside the black music idiom perform a capella field hollers  with such power and commitment."  Mark Doherty @ Rhythms
