Apollo's Attic makes its debut at Perth Blues Club on Tuesday 22 May.

Blues infused rock n’ roll with an optimistically dark core, Apollo’s Attic brings an energetic catalogue of original songs born from a diverse and eclectic mix of influences.

True blue Aussie, Luke Crabb (percussion) grew up in Esperance and, with a gospel influence, brings a heavy funk drive to the music. Thomas Grober (bass) is originally from Germany where he found musical inspiration in the local acid jazz, rhythm & blues and funk scenes. Matt Hennessy (lead guitar) provides a raw blues sound with searing guitar lines influenced by Clapton, SRV andhis fellow countryman, Rory Gallagher. English-born, Paul Wesson (vocals & guitar) adds a little darkness to the sound citing influences such as Peter Green, David Bowie and Australia’s own Nick Cave.

The glamour is delivered by Perth-born and bred Christine Ang (Saxaphone). Christine is classically trained and has been playing sax since the age of 10. This collaboration with Apollo’s Attic is a considerable move away from her WA Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Big Band history and has put Apollo’s Attic on the musical map.

Joining Apollo's Attic are Bret Mosley (7.30pm) and The Grasshoppers (10.00pm)

Fresh from his recent appearance at the ANZAC Legacy Blues Concert, Craig Pinkney is warmly welcomed back to the PBC stage.

Not only is he a member of local band Pink and White Bridge and has performed with many of Perth's top musicians, he is also a solo performer in his own right.

Craig's song-writing skills have been recognised with a "Sounds" (British Rock Mag) Top Twenty Hit, and various song writing awards, including winning the Millenium Song Writing Competition and The Songs of Solidarity Australia-wide competition, and most recently 2nd prize in the Australian Songwriting Association song contest. His vocal skills have also been recognised and he has been a finalist in the Grace Brothers Australian Singing competition and has won Star Search (A pre - "Idol" TV talent show).

Craig has played as support act to many international touring acts including Billy Joel, Chris Isaac, James Brown, Joshua Kadison and Clannard. Happy with just an acoustic guitar and mic or fronting a rockin' band, Craig is an " old school" musician who delivers a performance full of soul and is most at home in front of an appreciative audience.

Craig Pinkney is supported by Dean Haitani Trio (7.00pm) and The Whiskey Pocket (10.00pm)

Entry: $15.00 / $10.00 Members

Every year, the Perth Blues Club sets aside a night to recognise the caring and valuable work done by our nursing community.

This year's event opens with Indigenous singer/songwriter Kankawa Nagarra, fresh from her appearances in the Desert Feet Tour. Next is Big Boss Beaver in duo mode. Dick Beaver is well known in medical circles, but here he excels at his other passion, low down Delta Blues.

The main act for the night, performing 2 sets, is Daly's Bluez Newz - featuring Paul Daly and the Heavy Hitters with guest players Bob Patient (keyboards) and Lez Karsky (guitar).

So come on down for a great night out and special entry for all nurses with ID.

Doors open and show starts at 7pm and meals available from 6pm.
